Unsere 7- tägige Cruise auf der Aida Maria entsprach genau unseren Bedürfnissen: die unglaubliche Vielfalt der Inseln und ihrer Fauna und Flora in familiärer Atmosphäre kennen zu lernen! Die Begegnungen mit den Tieren waren nicht nicht nur für meinen 10-jährigen Sohn das absolute Highlight! Auf dem Schiff beeindruckte uns zudem, wie der Koch täglich frische typische Speisen auf beengtem Raum so schmackhaft zubereiten konnte…

Thanks to the Galapagos Pro team for individual advice! Our 7-day cruise on the Aida Maria met our needs precisely: to get to know the incredible diversity of the islands and their fauna and flora in a family atmosphere! The encounters with the animals were the absolute highlight, and not only for my 10-year-old son! On the ship, we were also impressed by how the chef was able to prepare fresh typical dishes in a confined space every day..

A small impression

Dear Mrs. Zwermann,

Now we are almost two weeks back from our trip.

I wanted to get in touch the whole time and say: it was great, we saw a lot and everything went well! I would return in a heartbeat.

All the people we dealt with were very nice and courteous, we never felt insecure, the excursions were all successful, especially the crews on the boats did a great job and were eager to help! The nature guides were good, especially on the last two trips: I think his name was David.

The accommodation on San Cristobal was very good, also with the breakfast it worked out great there. The guide Luis was always on time.

The crossing to Santa Cruz was not so bad either – I was a little bit afraid before we left.

In Puerto Ayora, we felt as comfortable as an old city dwellers, while we strolled through the streets and ate well.

The Casa del Lago was also very nice and Elena a very good hostess.

For us it was absolutely the right decision not to cruise and I think, even after we were there that we (or actually: you!) have put together a very good, round trip.

I will gladly pass on your details to anyone who is interested!

Thank you very much for making sure that we could make an incredibly great, interesting, exciting, funny and varied journey where we have seen and experienced so much. To experience the wildlife so close is really an outstanding experience.

It was really everything perfectly organized, the care both here and on the ground was so competent, kind, entertaining and enriching. Rarely have we traveled so relaxed and come home so relaxed, although the memories and experiences are far from being properly processed… There are so many things that come to mind, really great.

Well, we were completely satisfied and would love to recommend you. Maybe it was not our last trip to Galapagos.

We wish everyone in the team, especially of course Manuela, Karin, Rebecca & Davide, a Merry Christmas, relaxing holidays and a healthy, happy and especially for you and Galapagos PRO a successful new year!

Galapagos Pro hat mir geholfen, meinen bereits lange erträumten Traumurlaub auf den Galapagosinseln zu ermöglichen.

Der erste Kontakt war eine Anfrage, ob in einem definierten Zeitraum eine Reise möglich sei. Diese wurde sehr freundlich beantwortet, das sei überhaupt kein Problem.

Die Homepage sah dann die Möglichkeit vor, die Reisebausteine individuell zu buchen. Die Beschreibungen zu den Touren waren hilfreich und die Bedienung intuitiv zu benutzen.

Die Reise führte dann zuerst nach Quito. Nach einem Tag Stadtbesichtigung mit einem Local Guide ging es dann zu einer viertägigen Abenteuertour in den Regenwald zu dem Stamm der Shuar, die sich bewundernswert dem Schutz des Regenwalds widmen und die Gelegenheit boten, ganz eng in Ihrem Dorf leben und ihre Kultur kennen lernen zu dürfen. Ein deutsch- und fließend spanisch sprechender und sehr sachkundiger Guide von Galapagos Pro ermöglichte dabei durch seine direkte Kommunikation, die Kultur und Menschen zu verstehen und mit ihnen in Kontakt zu sein.

Nach 4 Tagen Erlebnis-Tour ohne Strom und künstliches Licht ging es dann per Flug auf die Galapagosinseln. Auf dem Schiff La Pinta waren die Ausflüge auf die Inseln mit Dry- oder Wetlanding und ortskundigen Natur-Guides sehr gut geplant und durchgeführt. Dann ging es mit einem kleinen Flugzeug auf die Insel Isabella. Das Hotel Casa de Marita hat eine ganz individuelle und familiäre Atmosphäre und liegt direkt am Strand. Von der Terrasse kann man u.a. Iguanas, Seelöwen, Pelikane beobachten. Die Tagestouren auf den Vulkan, zum Schnorcheln, zu den Nachbarinseln zum Tal der Tränen ermöglichten, die Tierwelt und die auf den Inseln lebenden Menschen kennen lernen zu dürfen.

Die Rückreise nach Deutschland war perfekt organisiert, der Abschied vom Paradies fiel mehr als schwer. Es bleibt die Bewunderung der Natur und deren Einmaligkeit.

The first contact was an inquiry as to whether a journey was possible within a defined period of time. This was answered by a very friendly staff member, that was no problem at all.

The homepage then provided the opportunity to book the travel modules individually. The descriptions of the tours were helpful and the operation intuitive to use.

The journey led first to Quito. After a day of sightseeing with a local guide, we went on a four-day adventure tour of the rainforest to the Shuar tribe, who admirably dedicated themselves to protecting the rainforest and offered the opportunity to live very close to their village and get to know their culture. A German-speaking, fluent Spanish-speaking and very knowledgeable guide from Galapagos PRO made it possible to understand and be in contact with culture and people.

After a 4 day tour without electricity and light, we flew to the Galapagos Islands. On the ship La Pinta the trips to the islands with knowledgeable nature guides were very well planned and executed. Then we took a small plane to Isabella Island. The Hotel Casa de Marita has a very individual and family friendly atmosphere and is located directly on the beach. From the terrace you can watch Iguanas, sea lions, and pelicans amongst others. The day trips to the volcano, to go snorkelling, to the neighbouring islands, and to the Valley of Tears made it possible to get to know the wildlife and the people living on the islands.

The return trip to Germany was perfectly organised, and the farewell to paradise was more than difficult. We are left with the admiration of nature and its uniqueness.

wir möchten uns mit einem kleinen Bericht gerne bei Ihnen für eine wunderschöne Zeit in Ecuador bedanken.

Am 11.10.2016 kamen wir nach 15 Stunden Reisezeit endlich am Flughafen in Quito an. Dort wurden wir direkt von Alexander begrüßt, der bereits auf uns wartete. Er begleitete uns zu unserem privaten Taxi mit Fahrer, was sehr gut war da man wahrscheinlich am Flughafen nach der langen Reise schnell auf Betrüger reinfallen würde.  Bereits auf dem Weg ins Hotel fühlten wir uns sehr wohl. Alexander versorgte uns sofort mit Wasser und erzählte uns viel über Quito, dessen Einwohner und das Thema Sicherheit und Kriminalität. Unser Hotel für die nächsten 4 Nächte war „La Vieja Cuba“, das in der Neustadt von Quito liegt. Das Hotel ist nicht besonders groß, aber sehr schön eingerichtet und das Personal ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Man fühlt sich dort sofort sehr  wohl. Alexander erklärte uns noch, wo wir am besten essen gehen können und was alles in der Umgebung liegt und lies uns dann von der langen Reise erholen. Doch alleine fühlten wir uns nicht, denn gleich am nächsten Morgen wartete Alexander bereits an der Hotel Rezeption auf uns. Da das Internet in seinem Büro ausgefallen war, hatte er nun Zeit uns die Stadt zu zeigen, also frühstückten wir gemeinsam mit ihm im Hotel. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es gab viele frische Früchte und frisch gemachten Saft und das Personal erfüllte auch sonst alle Wünsche. Danach ging es also mit Alexander in die Altstadt von Quito. Wir freuten uns sehr, gleich am ersten Tag so eine nette Begleitung zu haben, da man sich als Tourist allein in so einer fremden Stadt doch erstmal schwer tut. Alexander gab uns einen groben Überblick über Quito, mit seinen schönsten Plätzen, Kirchen und Parks. Allerdings wollte er uns nicht zu viel vorwegnehmen, da wir ja für den nächsten Tag eine Exkursion gebucht hatten. Vielen Dank Alexander für diesen netten ersten Eindruck von Quito. Am nächsten Tag wurden wir sehr früh morgens von Adrian, unserem heutigen Reiseleiter im Hotel abgeholt. Unsere Tour startete mit einem Kaffee am „Plaza Grande“. Darauf folgte ein Besuch der Basilica (allerdings nur von außen), dem „Plaza San Francisco“, dem Markt „Santa Clara“ mit einer großen Auswahl an Früchten und Gemüse und einer Besichtigung der wunderschönen Kirche „La Compania de Jesus“.  Adrian erzählte uns dabei sehr viel über die Geschichte der indigenen Bevölkerung und der Stadt Quito. Es wurde jedoch nie langweilig, da er alles sehr gut darstellte und auch immer wieder durch Witze oder interessante Gespräche die Stimmung auflockerte. Weiter ging es zum „Panecillo“, dem Brötchenberg mit Aussicht auf Quito und danach zum Museum und Denkmal „Mitad del Mundo, an dem die Äquatorial-Linie verläuft. Zum Abschluss gingen wir noch mit Adrian typisch ecuadorianisch essen. Dank super netter und lustiger Begleitung und einem toll zusammengestellten Programm war es ein sehr schöner Tag für uns.

Am frühen Samstagmorgen wurden wir von Susana, der Reiseführerin  und unserem Fahrer zu der 6- tägigen Tour entlang der Straße der Vulkane abgeholt. Es würde zu lange dauern, jede Aktivität im Detail darzustellen, da wir in diesen Tagen so viel Tolles erlebt haben, doch wir glauben die Bilder sprechen für sich ;) Auf jeden Fall war auch Susana, genauso wie unsere ersten beiden Begleitungen, sehr herzlich und aufgeschlossen und erfüllte uns jeden Wunsch. Ein großer Luxus war natürlich, dass wir die Tour privat, nur zu dritt machen durften. Somit konnten wir unsere Reise ganz nach unseren Wünschen gestalten. Das beste Erlebnis dieser Reise war jedoch für uns der Besuch bei einem Shamanen im Amazonas. Zusammen mit Tzama (dem Shamanen), Susana und unserem Fahrer fuhren wir nach Puyo, dem Tor zum ecuadorianischen Regenwald.  Die Fahrzeit war sehr lange (über 2 Stunden)  und ziemlich heiß aber es hat sich auf jeden Fall zu 100% gelohnt.  Gegen Nachmittag kamen wir bei dem Volk und der Familie von Tzama, den Shuars an. Sofort wurden wir mit frisch gemachten Ananassaft und einem leckeren Mittagessen  empfangen. Es gab Fisch, mit Palmenherzen und kleinen Kochbananen, sehr lecker. Wir waren überwältigt von der Gastfreundschaft der kompletten Familie. Alle freuten sich, dass wir da waren. Anschließend stellte Tzama uns das Projekt seiner Gemeinschaft vor. Ein Projekt, das die Shuars auf die Beine gestellt haben um den Regenwald und somit unseren Planeten zu schützen. Sie kultivieren viele unterschiedliche Pflanzen und wollen somit der Ausrohdung des Regenwaldes entgegenwirken. Tzama erklärte uns, dass viele (auch europäische Firmen) für wenige Euros besondere Bäume abholzen, die über 300 Jahre brauchen, bis sie wieder in dieser Größe existieren.  Das machte uns sehr nachdenklich und ließ uns an der Nutzung von Holz aus dem Regenwald zweifeln. Die Shuars sehen dieses Projekt als ihre Lebensaufgabe und sie tun dies von Herzen, genau das ist bei uns auch so angekommen. Danach stellte Tzama uns seiner restlichen Familie vor, seiner Frau, seinem Vater und seinen unzähligen Kindern.  Auch diese begrüßten uns alle so herzlich, wie wir es noch nie zuvor in Deutschland erlebt hatten. Sie zeigten uns ihre typische Musik, mit Gitarren, Trommeln und Gesang  und wir wurden aufgefordert mit ihnen zu tanzen. Man kann das Gefühl, das wir dabei hatten gar nicht in Worte fassen. Wir waren einfach gerührt von diesem Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl, das bestand obwohl wir von komplett unterschiedlichen Kontinenten kommen und uns nur dank Susana, die fleißig übersetzte, verständigen konnten. Leider war der Besuch danach aufgrund des Einbruchs der Dunkelheit auch schon wieder vorbei.

Doch die gesamte Familie von Tzama lud uns für einen weiteren Besuch ein, mit den Worten:  „Unsere Türen stehen immer für euch offen, vergesst nicht, es ist auch euer Regenwald und euer Volk“. Ein Erlebnis, dass wir nie wieder vergessen werden und wir können nur  jedem empfehlen die Shuars mal zu besuchen und ihr Projekt zu unterstützen.

Wie Sie merken, sind wir auch einige Tage nach unserer  Reise immer noch überwältigt von Ecuador und den Leuten, die wir kennen lernen durften. Danke Galapagos Pro, dass Sie uns dies alles ermöglicht haben!

We would like to thank you for our wonderful time in Ecuador with a small report.

On 11.10.2016 we arrived after 15 hours travel time finally at the airport in Quito. There we were greeted directly by Alexander, who was already waiting for us. He accompanied us to our private taxi driver, which was very good after the long journey, as we would quickly fall for tricksters. Already on the way to the hotel we felt very comfortable. Alexander gave us water and told us a lot about Quito, its inhabitants and the topic of security and crime. Our hotel for the next 4 nights was „La Vieja Cuba“ which is located in the new town of Quito. The hotel is not very big, but very nicely decorated and the staff is very nice and accommodating. You feel very comfortable right away. Alexander explained to us where we can find the best food and what is in the area, and then let us recover from the long journey. We did not feel alone, because the next morning Alexander was already waiting for us at the hotel reception. Since the internet had broken down in his office, he had some extra time to show us the city, so we had breakfast with him at the hotel! The breakfast was very good, there were many fresh fruits and freshly made juice and the staff also fulfilled all other wishes.

After that we went to the old town of Quito with Alexander. We were very happy, right on the first day to have such nice company, because it can be difficult as a tourist alone ina strange city. Alexander gave us a rough overview of Quito, with its most beautiful squares, churches and parks. However, he did not want to give away too much, because we had booked an excursion for the next day. Thank you very much Alexander for this nice first impression of Quito. The next day we were picked up very early in the morning by Adrian, our tour guide in the hotel. Our tour started with a coffee at the Plaza Grande. This was followed by a visit to the Basilica (but only from the outside), the Plaza San Francisco, the market Santa Clara with a large selection of fruits and vegetables and a visit to the beautiful church La Compania de Jesus. Adrian told us a lot about the history of the indigenous people and the city of Quito. It never got boring, because he was a very good story teller and always lightened the mood with jokes or interesting conversations. We continued to Panecillo, the bread roll mountain with a view of Quito and then to the museum and monument Mitad del Mundo, on which runs along the Equatorial Line. Finally we went to Adrian with typical Ecuadorian food. Thanks to super nice and funny company and a great program, it was a very nice day for us.

Early Saturday morning we were picked up by Susana, the tour guide and our driver for the 6-day tour along the Avenue of Volcanoes. It would take too long to detail each activity as we have experienced so many great things these days, but we believe the pictures speak for themselves ;). In any case, Susana, like our first two companions, was very warm and open-minded and fulfilled every wish. A great luxury was, of course, that we were allowed to make the tour private, with only the three of us. Thus, we could design our trip according to our wishes. However, the best experience of this trip for us was a visit to a shaman in the Amazon. Together with Tzama (the Shaman), Susana and our driver we drove to Puyo, the gateway to the Ecuadorian rainforest. The driving time was very long (over 2 hours) and quite hot but it was definitely 100% worth it. In the afternoon we arrived at the people and family of Tzama, the Shuars. Immediately we were greeted with fresh pineapple juice and a delicious lunch. There was fish, with palm hearts and small plantains, very delicious. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the entire family. Everyone was happy that we were there. Then Tzama introduced us to the project of his community. A project that the Shuars have set up to protect the rainforest and thus our planet. They cultivate many different plants and thus want to counteract the threats to the rainforest. Tzama explained to us that many (even European companies) cut down special trees for a few euros, which take over 300 years to regrow to this size. This made us very thoughtful and concerned about the use of wood from the rainforest. The Shuars see this project as their life’s work and they do it from the heart. After that, Tzama introduced us to his remaining family, his wife, his father, and his countless children. These greeted us all more warmly than we had ever experienced before in Germany. They showed us their typical music with guitars, drums and vocals and we were asked to dance with them. You can not put into words the feeling that we had. We were simply touched by this feeling of belonging, even though we came from completely different continents and were only able to communicate thanks to Susana, who translated diligently. Unfortunately, the visit was over again due to the onset of darkness.

But the whole family of Tzama invited us for another visit, saying: „Our doors are always open to you, do not forget, it’s your rainforest and your people too“. An experience that we will never forget again and we can only recommend to anyone visiting the Shuars and supporting their project.

As you can see, even a few days after our trip, we are still overwhelmed by Ecuador and the people we met. Thank you Galapagos Pro for making this possible!
