You can also plan a holiday in the Galapagos without a cruise. As a Galapagos specialist, we typically recommend a tour starting in the Ecuadorian mainland. There are numerous nature experiences in Ecuador. We would be happy to help you plan individual day trips or multi-day excursions to the Amazon, to the Andes or within Quito. It is well worth it!

One option is a domestic flight to San Cristóbal at the far eastern end of the islands, where you can spend a good first few nights and experience everyday life with sea lions. From there, you can either take a speedboat or propeller plane to Santa Cruz (plane goes via Baltra). We suggest that you spend a few nights here, enjoying the wildlife in the little town of Puerto Ayora and taking several day trips by boat. Then you definitely need to spend at least three nights on Isabela Island. The island is a paradise on earth and a place where you can get up close and personal with many different types of animals, including flamingos, marine iguanas, sharks and sea turtles. For the return journey, the best is to fly via Baltra and Guayaquil back to Europe. We can, of course, work with you to create your own personal Galapagos trip, which can deviate from this standard program.
