In Ecuador, the standard voltage is 120 V, and the frequency is 60 Hz. Batteries from 110 V to 240 V are usually acceptable, but this may not always be the case. High-class hotels and several cruises at the Galapagos Islands offer up to 220 V in their rooms.

Charging your camera
As stated above, the voltage in Ecuador is only 110 V. Therefore you should check if your camera battery charger requires an adaptor or if it can be changed from 220 V to 110 V. In most big cities, storage cards can be easily purchased. If you like to save your pictures and beautiful memories from the trip on the internet, you can do that in one of the many internet cafes or with the computers available in your hotel.
