Everything went perfectly, I was always greeted by a German-speaking tour guide, kept up to date and received competent answers to my questions. The travel documents were very well prepared and the people in Ecuador, including the tourist police and the officials at the airports, are very friendly and helpful. Every day unique, travel days between the islands were adventure days for me, animals with no apparent escape instinct, the young sea lions seem to be just waiting for the tourists who go into the water to play with them and swim around them. But be careful – really don’t touch them! A young American woman was bitten by a sea lion because her companion slapped a sea lion sleeping on a bench!

I had already spent 25 days of my 6-week individual tour through Ecuador. The sometimes violent uprisings in the country made my travel program almost impossible. So I was faced with the decision of flying home early or spontaneously traveling to the Galapagos Islands for another 15 days – I had already been there years ago. After some initial research on the internet, I remembered the random encounter and conversations with Yannik and Finn from Galapagos-Pro (I had never heard of this agency before) on the summit of Rucu Pichincha a few weeks ago … I contacted Yannik in Quito to see if Galapagos-Pro could make an offer for a trip to Galapagos at short notice.

Within a few days, Yannik, in cooperation with his colleagues in Frankfurt and on the Galapagos Islands, put together a program that met my wishes (western route on a good quality ship, land stay on two islands including a tour to Espaniola) and was also competitive in terms of price/performance ratio. The dialogue was extremely intensive, open and characterized by a high level of expertise. The documents sent were extremely informative in terms of organization and nature/animal world.

The trip itself then went completely according to plan, always flanked by direct contact with Galapagos-Pro (Yannik, Karin/Santa Cruz and Manuela/San Cristobal). The 8-day western route of the cruise, the activities, the ship (the Solaris with a great crew and excellent food) were just as first-class as the stays ashore (including two booked day tours and suggestions for individual activities). One hotel on San Cristobal was rebooked as a precaution and without my involvement due to the construction noise caused by a building site next door.

I was able to experience the wildlife and island world on Galapagos – simply outstanding and unique – intensively on numerous shore excursions, snorkeling and boat tours.

Many thanks to the Galapagos PRO team, especially Finn Kurth, for the great organization of our trip to Quito and the Galapagos Islands. Our decision to explore the Galapagos by boat and to do so for 14 days on board the Angelito was a hit. There is no alternative to a boat trip to explore the diversity and the amazing wildlife. After the observations of the last 2 weeks, there is also no comparable alternative to the Angelito. The Angelito with Maya and her team is one of the last boat companies still in local hands and all employees come from Galapagos. This means that the added value stays where it belongs.

This should also be actively supported by the travel agencies so that the Angelito does not disappear from the scene. There are no comparable nature guides on the other boats either.

The rules of the national park are also often not observed on these boats.

We would definitely choose the Angelito again on a second tour to Galapagos.

Galapagos Pro should definitely plan for longer transfer times given the current conditions at the airports. For planning trips to Ecuador and the Galapagos, we would choose Galapagos Pro again as the organizer for future trips.

We have returned safely to Germany. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to do a proper review as we returned to work the very next day.

However, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the uncomplicated and good planning of the trip. We were very happy that Mr. Boyn recommended the cruise to the southern islands. We really liked the ship, the crew, the nature of the tours and the lack of civilization.

The guide gave us a very good introduction to the flora and fauna and the snorkeling tours were very diverse.

We were able to enjoy our stays on the islands as all the excursions were carried out without any complications. If I had to single out one tour in particular, I would choose Los Tuneles on Isabela.
