The horseshoe-shaped island is moulded by a shield volcano whose southern end has collapsed through erosion. Darwin Bay is the only place where you can see the sharp-beaked ground finch among its salt bushes, solidified lava and steep cliffs. The sandy white beaches and crystal clear waters provide excellent habitat for a large number of birds. The Bird Paradise

Resident bird colonies include the great frigatebird, masked booby, red-billed tropicbird, swallow-tailed gull, Galapagos dove, Galapagos petrel, lava gull and the red-footed booby, just to name a few! You can also choose to observe the animals and birds by taking a boat ride through the cliffs. There you will see sea lions and a variety of seabirds.
