Ecuador - The Garden of Eden
FIND YOUR PERFECT TRIP
The Journey is the Destination
Ecuador Tours and Travel Information
There is little doubt as to why Ecuador is referred to as the Garden of Eden. Very few places in the world offer such captivating and diverse forms of nature within a single country. As you travel to Ecuador, you can trek up the highlands of the Andes near the equators and observe the active volcanoes before your very eyes. On the other end, you can relax on the endless stretch of sandy beaches with clear waters or come face to face with the exotic wildlife in the pristine nature of the Amazon Rainforest.
Ecuador is the perfect destination for you
The natural landscapes of Ecuador contrast starkly from one another. On the one hand it offers areas with dense vegetation and misty cloud forests, and on the other hand, you are confronted with vast, rugged canyons and arid landscapes. With rich arable soils, abundance in water, a temperate climate and peace-loving people, Ecuador lives up to the title Garden of Eden. While rainfall is rare and sparse during summer, it rains fairly frequently in winter. However, due to its diverse landscapes, Ecuador is the perfect destination for you, regardless of the season.
Ecuadorians are friendly and open-minded folks who are incredibly welcoming towards visitors. Get a taste of their culture by visiting the indigenous markets, having a friendly football match with the locals on the beach or visit the Shaman Tzamarenda in the Amazon rainforest with us.
Travelling in Ecuador is secure and safe, and you can choose to travel by bus, train, car rental or with a private guided tour.

Ecuador Outdoor Adventure Tours
Travelling in Ecuador can be filled with action and adventure as well. The city of Baños located at the foot of the active Tungurahua Volcano is a place packed with activities for outdoor lovers and thrill seekers. Activities range from rafting, mountain biking, gorge zip lining, sky swinging, volcano trekking, mountain climbing to horseback riding. There are several small travel agencies located near the bus terminal in Baños which offer tours that include the activities mentioned. Under normal circumstances, the equipment provided is safe, and tour guides are well trained.
The region’s robust landscape includes the highlands of the Andes, sandy coastlines and the Amazon, therefore providing you with a diverse selection of outdoor activities. However, it is difficult to embark on these adventures solely on your own. While the infrastructures provided in the national parks are improving, there are still barely any public camping spots. If you are planning to go hiking or trekking, you should be accompanied by an experienced guide. While you have to pay for the rental of the equipment, tour guide services are affordable.
Besides, we also offer multi-sport tours starting from 5 days such as:
- Rainforest kayaking tour
- Cloud forest horseback riding tour
- Combined highland adventure tour

The Ecuadorian Coasts for Surfers
The Ecuadorian coast is a prime location for all surfers. Montañita, located two hours north of Guayaquil, is a haven for surfers. The ISA World Masters Surfing Championships was also held there in 2013. Along the beaches of Montañita are endless stretches of trendy bars, cafés, live music and parties that go on into the wee hours of the morning.
Santa Marianita is also a favorite spot for kite surfers. It is located 20 minutes away from the city of Manta with six kitesurfing schools on the beach. The quiet fishing village transforms into a bustling surfer paradise on the weekends. The surfing conditions are optimal all year round as well!
For sports fishing enthusiast, Santa Elena, Salinas and Bahía de Caráquez are the best fishing sites. Our favourite beach is located in Canoa, north of Manta and the beautiful Canoa Beach Hotel offers guests with the luxury of a private beach and rooms with balconies that look out into the calming panoramic view.
Kayaking
Have you ever wanted to kayak through Amazon’s wildlife haven? We have a 6-day Kayaking Tour where you will get to kayak at the Yasuní National Park. The water bodies are usually extremely clear and you can fish for piranhas and spot the legendary caimans and anacondas at Pañayacu River and Pañacocha Lagoon.
The tour’s highlight includes a trip to Lamederos/Saladeros (parrot clay lick) where large numbers of parrots and macaws will feed on the mineral-rich grounds. There are rarely any other places left on earth where you would be able to see such a wide range of animals per hectare. A day will also be spent hiking through the dense Amazonian jungle and visiting the local Kichwa community. Other animals that you will encounter on this tour include the river turtle, tapir, capybara and oropendola birds like caciques, kingfishers, toucans and many more.
More information regarding our sports and adventure tours are available below. We hope you find something that would satisfy the adventurous spirit in you!
Mountain Biking and Horseback Riding
We highly recommend a stay at Hacienda Porvenir. From there you can enjoy the gorgeous view of the volcanic landscape while hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. You can also visit the Cotopaxi High and Low Ropes Climbing Park where low rope courses are also available for younger or novice climbers.
For all the daredevils out there, the hair-raising narrow train ride along The Devil’s Nose (Nariz del Diablo) will be the perfect adventure for you. More information and a video of this heart-stopping Trans-Andean train ride can be found here.
